Three Names Forwarded for Seat on Maryland High Court
The Maryland Courts website shows that the Judicial Nominating Commission has forwarded three nominees to Governor Hogan for the Prince George’s County seat on the Court of Appeals of Maryland. The nominees are:
- Court of Special Appeals Judge Michele Denise Hotten.
- Prince George’s County Circuit Judge Sean Daniel Wallace.
- Michael John Winkelman, a Lanham-based plaintiff’s attorney.
The committee declined to forward two applicants, Prince George’s County District Court Judge Krystal Quinn Alves, and attorney Richard J. Douglas. If this is his Twitter feed, then Mr. Douglas is also exploring a GOP bid for the U.S. Senate.
There is no set timeline for the governor to make his selection. The process was already delayed for more than a month, when there were too few applicants in July.
