Fourth Circuit Arguments in Appeals from the District of Maryland, January 2026

Below is a list of appeals from the United States District Court for the District of Maryland being heard during the Fourth Circuit sitting that begins January 27, 2026. When available, we include the Clerk’s synopsis of the issues.

To compile this list, we’re going only by the district judge’s name, which can be overinclusive (if a Maryland-based judge was sitting by designation elsewhere within the Circuit) or underinclusive (if an outside judge was sitting by designation in the District of Maryland). CIVIL RIGHTS: Challenge to district court’s determination that police search using a cell site simulator to locate appellant was constitutional under Fourth Amendment; other issues.

23-1974 Sunday Egahi v. Pamela Bondi Procedures Act (Griggsby)
CIVIL: Whether district court lacked subject matter jurisdiction to consider alleged violations of Administrative related to I-360 VAWA self-petition.

25-1770 Poppleton Now Community Association, Inc. v. La Cite Development, LLC (Abelson)
